about

"Sparkle Darkly" picks up from where the previous album, "Honest Blundering" left off. Think of it was "Honest Blundering's" more grown-up, slightly weirder cousin.
It's another instrumental album but this time the styles and influences are more varied. From the slight latin influence on "Un Boleto.." and the bizarre phony brass experiment of "Bold as Brassica" and the more acoustic influenced tracks like "Castlemilk Moorit".
If anything it's more experimental than the first album. Also by this stage I'd learnt to use 'the gear' a bit more competently so therefore it sounds a little more polished, (if still resolutely lo-fi!).
The intent was much the same as the first record, to create instrumental pop-songs, almost like a collection of film soundtracks in minature.
